Worship

The music we sing at Living Water is a blend of old and new. We love the doctrinally rich hymns of the sixteenth century, but we also find blessing in the choruses of the twenty-first. Most of us who are comfortable with one particular style have discovered, while at Living Water, that we have come to enjoy other genres of music we had not previously encountered. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice, over performed music, which tends to spotlight the abilities of some while encouraging passivity in the rest.

Brian Ehline, our lead worshipper, grew up in Southern California, attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, OR in 1984/1985 and then graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies from Southern California College in Costa Mesa, CA. He currently resides in Ridgefield with his wife, Karalee, and their 4 children, JR, Emily, Nathan and Benjamin

The Spurgeon Fellowship

Over 200 pastors and church leaders joined to worship God at Western Seminary on March 17, 2009. What a GLORIOUS time!! The LWCC worship team led in singing praises and Dr. Art Azurdia preached two messages on worship from Revelation 4 and 5. Listen to or download Art’s messages by FILTERING Sermons with Art Azurdia for Preacher and Spurgeon Fellowship for Services.

Art offerred the following definition in his first message:

“Worship is a response of the rational (mind), emotional (heart), and physical (body)…stimulated by the compelling worthiness of our God and Savior as revealed in His Word…i.e. all that you are as a human being in response to all that God is.”

And from another voice:

“A faithful worship leader magnifies the greatness of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by skillfully combining God’s Word with music, thereby motivating the gathered church to proclaim the gospel, to cherish God’s presence, and to live for God’s glory.”
Quoted from Worship Matters: Leading Others to Encounter the Greatness of God by Bob Kauflin
