el•der (el’der) n. 1. Elected or appointed governing officer within a church. [See 1 Timothy 3: 1-7, Titus 1: 6-9]
dea•con (‘dē-kən) The verb form means “to serve”; particularly, “to wait at table” (cf. Arndt, p. 183). It connotes a very personal service, closely related to a service of love.
The elders (“pastors”) of Living Water are appointed by God to shepherd and lead the flock of Living Water. It is our desire to lead this Church in a way pleasing to the Lord. Leading is not always easy or pleasurable, but as God continues to work through the elders by washing his children with His word the Lord is presenting himself a radiant Church. The Living Water elders convene regularly to discuss matters of sound theology, direction for the Church, and discipline with love for the people at Living Water. The elders wish to preach, teach, and counsel to the glory of God, and these matters are not taken lightly.
Living Water deacons help the elders, enabling them to do what God has commanded. The elders desire that we would be a Church that strives to live in accordance to the Bible and enjoy all that God has given to his people.
